Copyright Matters

As writers we are obliged to protect our copyright. Since our books
are diffused through many channels which exist today, we have
to protect what we write. I say this in the literal sense. I recently
had the experience of a transgression of copyright using one
of my books as a cover for illegal advertising. Some people
were using the cover of "Modern Ekphrasis" even saying that
you could download the book for free in order to make their way
in a company called "Daily Motion" based in New York. I wrote
to the company saying that they were infringing my copyright
as an author and that they could be liable to be sued. Since
the transgression continued, I also continued to report their
inefficacy in stopping the abuse by individuals who download
videos to climb in the professional ladder without even asking
the permission of the author or the publisher. As writers we are
obliged to report and object each time our books are used illegally.
