Fortitude
Life's trials force us to develop fortitude of character which is the ability
to cope with difficult situations, disease, and loss. I was speaking to a
friend the other day who suffers from a debilitating medical situation
for which she had to be hospitalised for long months during the winter.
She said to me that this trial gave her strength and augmented her
resilience. She started learning a new language and will soon be
visiting the Far East to practise it with the natives. She also lost
a lot of weight which makes her feel much lighter and in better
health. She has acquired fortitude.
