Poetry and Mental Calculus

I discovered that writing poetry enhances the ability to do mental calculus.

I think that the analogies that are used in connotative and figurative poetic

language develops the capacity to calculate mentally without the usage

of calculators. It has been my experience that poetry writing and the use

of tropes reinforce one's capacity to add, subtract, divide, and multiply.
