This is what happens when we listen to music: our brains light up.
Neuroscientists have discovered that the brain's higher cognitive sectors
like the learning, problem-solving, decision-making centers are activated
when we listen to music. These centers are even more activated when we
play music. Moreover, the cognitive areas of the brain are interconnected
more efficiently and the synapses are carried faster when we are involved
in a musical activity. So, the bard was right: music is the food of love. What
the bard wrote about intuitively, the neuroscientists proved by measuring
the brain's electrical activity when listening to music.
