The Brain Lights Up

This is what happens when we listen to music: our brains light up.

Neuroscientists have discovered that the brain's higher cognitive sectors

like the learning, problem-solving, decision-making centers are activated

when we listen to music. These centers are even more activated when we

play music. Moreover, the cognitive areas of the brain are interconnected

more efficiently and the synapses are carried faster when we are involved

in a musical activity. So, the bard was right: music is the food of love. What

the bard wrote about intuitively, the neuroscientists proved by measuring

the brain's electrical activity when listening to music.
