Covid and Drama

Theaters have been shut for more than a year in Geneva now.
I am beginning to feel the lack of cultural feedback, especially
the one that w have from a good play with a climax and a worthy
dénouement. Plays give us a connection with the societies in which
we live, work, and interact. The lockdown has deprived us of these
moral and emotional experiences and we begin to feel the effect.
I have begun watching the classical Shakespeare tragedies played
by Christopher Plummer, Laurence Olivier, and Richard Burton
who have different styles of acting but convey the main ideas
and emotions of the plays with excellent acting. Yet, still feel it is
not the same as being in a theater and experiencing the drama
directly through the actors. The screen and the virtual experience
holds a censure which is hard to break, I think.
