Mobbing

In our poetry workshop we discussed a poem on the effects
of mobbing on women. Apparently, men are using mobbing
to get rid of their women colleagues to take their places.
This ill-famed practice targets women journalists more often
than other professions although it is also common in teaching
and in business. The effect is to leave the victim defenseless
and in deep depression for many months. As the poet put it
she feels "like a shrub." In countries where the victims
are unable to be defended efficiently by specialised lawyers,
the person finally gives up her right for financial compensation
which should be given to her if the justice system were
to function properly. Good luck to both sides!
