ON MEMORY

Our last stanza meeting of the year concerned memory which I define
as the mnemonic traces that are stocked in our brain. The poets wrote
about the memory of flowers and how their essences help us to heal
from our inner wounds. We spoke about the mycelian links between
the flowers that tie them to the earth and to one another. Poets also
wrote about our affective wounds and how the anger that they cause
disrupts our equilibrium causing us to question ourselves. One poet
wrote abut his recollections of the orchard that is connected to his
alliance with Nature and his deep vanishing self-consciousness while
I wrote about an olive branch that brings me peace of mind when
my life is in harmony with my thoughts and my being. Memory is
precious...
