Identity

I think that one of the most important paradigms of the writing life
is the theme of identity. As writers, we can express our identity in
every literary genre and even in hybrid genres like poetry and prose
and/or fiction and/or memoir. Identity is an important theme that
allows us to maintain our integrity and paves the way for authenticity.
The methods of writing about identity issues vary: through character,
plot, setting, and by establishing a strong reader's response around
the questions that are raised, the problems that are treated in the plot,
irony, and the symbols used to evoke the themes.
