Truth versus Untruth
I have recently began writing flash pieces of true stories that either happened to me personally or I have taken them from real life incidents, then fictionalized the events but kept the characters as real as possible by describing them very closely and making their dialogues as lively as possible. i think that rendering a true story in the fictional realm makes it more real and gives it verisimilitude so that the content, the climax, and the resolution of the plot carry more weight. The reader's response may become stronger when a true story is intensified with fictionalized aspects because the writer has a chance to voice opinions, stretch the story-line to include details and information which might have been left out if it were solely true. Worth trying especially in an age of untruth in which we live. Truth is being transformed into lies which take its place in everyday life through disinformation, emotional reactions over rational truthfulness, and propaganda instead of the minute analysis of events. Yet, despite all this, there are investigative journalists and web masters who maintain news sites that refer to the truth as it occurs and is lived by people around the world so that, in the end, the true story surfaces despite attempts to disguise and distort it. I have adopted Vox News as the site for my world news that allows me
to access the insider's view of world events as they occur, untouched by propaganda or the distorted perspectives of prejudiced journalism called "fake news" dispersed the popular press.
